Wow! I can't believe we have just one week left of camp. Summer just zoomed by. The good news is that I will finally start the nursing program in the fall :) Then in a couple of years I'll finally have the career I've been wanting. I hear its a very difficult program so this weekend might be my last working at the restaurant :) The mango season was great; we got so many mangoes from my mom. We just ate and ate mangoes everyday...apparently mangoes are very nutritious so David took to eating them a lot to help out with his workouts. I was able to give away a lot and the ones that were too ripe to eat I cut and stored for frozen drinks. I planted the mango seeds and now we have ten baby mango trees!!
After almost two years I've started running again. David goes with me sometimes, and I know Bella loves having a chance to go out more often. She's got so much energy and running mellows her out. She is so crazy. She loves to chase lizards, she'll just sit by the glass door and watch them for hours like its tv! And when we open the door she just dashes out after them. She never really catches any, mainly she just chases them away :) And when we get palmetto bugs inside the house she gets a chase; she'll bark and trail it but as soon as the bug turns towards her she quickly backs away.
We have been blessed to finally have found a church that fits us. We spent the fourth of July celebrating with family at the church fireworks event. It had been four years since I'd last seen fireworks they were so amazing, and David took some really cool pictures.

Change of pace
So I'll be working in an Art summer camp!!!
I'm very excited! I'll get to do art projects all day long. I'll have longer days, but it'll be a nice change of pace from working with adults to working with children. That's the part I'm looking forward to the most. Hopefully they'll be responsive to the art. One of the conditions for registering to this camp was to express a desire to do artwork.
I've finally started painting our coffee table. I kept putting it off, I drew the koi fish on it a few months ago, and since I want to do large watercolor paintings I figured it would be great if I finished the coffee table first. This is what it looks like so far...
I decided last minute to do a rocky background instead of just having the fish float in a blue background. I'm considering red, orange, and white for the fish.
The yellow squash and zucchini seeds David planted did not make it through :( David planted them in different pots; one he'd water often and the other not so often! He wanted "the fittest to survive." Anyway he didn't count on a third variable: Bella :)
We often feed Bella food other than her dry dog food, so sometimes she gets an upset stomach. Whenever she had an upset stomach she'd eat the squash and zucchini leaves! At first we'd shoo her away when we'd see it happen but eventually she got to them all when we weren't watching. So now we just have the lavender, chamomile, and cucumber which she doesn't like and leaves alone.
So somehow we got tiny frogs in our garden. They sound beautiful after it rains or when we water, but slowly they are becoming a little nuisance! They-are-everywhere!!! They are so cute and tiny, but they've taken over all the pots and laid eggs on the soil. I can't dig anywhere without finding eggs, which dissuades me from transplanting anything! I'm hoping its just a seasonal thing.
The picture above and below show tiny frogs, they are so small that I can't zoom in too much with the camera because the image becomes blurry!

Gave in...
After much consideration I finally gave into creating a blog. I plan to use it to keep friends and family updated on what David, Bella, and I are up to.
Well, its summer and David is taking no breaks from his studies! He is currently taking a six week pre-calculus class so its got an intense pace. He comes home from his two hour class, takes a break, and starts his tedious homework, with smaller breaks in-between. Generally its off to bed by the time he finishes.
Bella is still recovering from her gun shot wound; recently she developed a mass on her leg and the vet said it was probably a piece of the bullet that was making its way out. So after a couple of weeks of antibiotics, we still have to clean her wound daily until the debris comes out :(
I have been working and studying/applying/and now waiting to hear back from the nursing program in Broward. So if I get accepted we're looking to move south to Pompano Beach since its not too far south and David can still attend Palm Beach State.
Today I worked on some paintings for the Saturday morning class I teach. I decided to bring them home because I never get to finish them. I always have to paint quickly and then spend the rest of the time walking around and making sure the children know how to do it. I've also been getting ready to start working at an art summer camp. I don't officially have the job yet due to technicalities but the director has told me that I'm in it for the summer.
I had this really good idea (at least I think it's good): painting large serene landscapes that can cover most of the living room wall. That way we don't have to permanently leave a mural in every apartment we live in. Generally I just want to start painting BIG (not TINY).
